Tragic Funeral Held for 6-Year-Old Girl Killed in Car Accident on Route 90
BE’ER SHEVA – In a heartbreaking ceremony, the funeral of a 6-year-old girl, who lost her life in a road accident on Route 90, was held today in her hometown. Dozens of friends and family members gathered to bid farewell to the young girl, whose life was cut short too soon.
During the emotional funeral, the girl’s devastated mother struggled to find the words to say goodbye to her daughter. She expressed her pain and disbelief, questioning why her child was taken away from her. “Why did you leave me? Why did God take you from me?” she cried out. “My life, I don’t want to live here without you. You didn’t even have time to go to first grade. You said you wouldn’t leave me alive, that you want to be like me. Now I want to be like you, in the ground.”
The accident occurred on the previous night when the girl’s father was driving on Highway 90. It is suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The father, who is now facing possible charges, also attended the burial ceremony but faced anger from the mother’s family. He was moved to the back of the compound, where he was seen crying and struggling to say his final goodbyes.
The accident, which took place near the Samar junction, resulted in the death of the young girl. Medical personnel from the Magen David Adom (MDA) provided immediate assistance to the victims at the scene. Tragically, they had to pronounce the young girl dead upon arrival. Her 9-year-old brother, who was seriously injured, and their 42-year-old father, who suffered moderate injuries, were both rushed to Soroka Hospital for further medical treatment.
Police promptly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Initial findings suggest that the girl was not wearing a seat belt, and her father, who refused to undergo a sobriety test, was suspected to be driving while intoxicated.
The community of Be’er Sheva is deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and condolences have poured in from all around the city. The funeral served as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and the devastating consequences that can result from impaired driving.
