Wayanad: 8 dead bodies, including a one-year-old child, were found in a landslide in Kalpatta Mundakai. The landslide happened in a place where Nepalese people live. 2 teams of Kannur Defense Security Corps were instructed to move to Wayanad for rescue operations in the landslide at the incident site. 16 people are receiving treatment in a private medical college in Meppadi. Landslides also occurred in Wayanad KunhomCheruvayel.
The first landslide happened at 2 am today. Later at about 4.10, it erupted again. Many places were isolated due to landslides and mountain floods. It is reported that many people were injured and around 400 families were stranded. Many places in the region, including Meppadi, Mundakai and Churalmala, were cut off. Churalmala-Mundakai road washed away. Mundakai is close to the site of the previous Puthumala landslide disaster.
