In the show, Demi’s close friend, Andrianna Manetta, who was also to be a bridesmaid at her wedding in September, spoke up.

“She had a germ; she complained of fatigue, did not feel her limbs, and was taking some simple medication, painkillers, and anti-inflammatory drugs. She was a bit scared; she had arranged to have tests today.

On Saturday night, she informed that she wasn’t feeling well and texted her other bridesmaid that if she closes her eyes, she would leave. That was when we realized the seriousness of the situation, and they closed the shop early. Her partner went home and found her without any pulse; they revived her with electric shocks, and then she was in a coma. By the time the helicopter brought her to Athens, she was in a comatose state and in severe shock.”

She emphasized that many hours were lost as a helicopter wasn’t available immediately, only arriving the next morning.

“The infection had progressed to all organs; they left us no choice, telling us to be there because she would pass at any moment,” she added.

Andrianna Manetta described Demi Georgiou as a good soul, “sensitive, generous; her dream was the restaurant in Paros, and she dreamed of her wedding in September. She loved animals, enjoyed cooking not as a businesswoman but as hospitality. Everything she achieved, she achieved on her own. She was very giving, and we are very proud of her.”

Deeply emotional, she stated, “We as friends will do what Demi wanted, and we will hold the wedding party as a memorial,” adding that this would honor her memory, clarifying that her funeral will take place in Athens.
