The three-year-old girl had been hospitalized at Ullevål Hospital with critical injuries since the serious violent incident in Gjerdrum on the night of Thursday, December 12.
The police responded to a residential house. There, they found a woman in her 30s deceased and a child severely injured. The woman’s husband, who had called the police around four o’clock, was arrested at the scene.
Annette Rygg is a supporting attorney for the deceased’s relatives:
– They are in shock and trying to cope with what has happened, Rygg told VG.
The supporting attorney had no comment on the three-year-old’s death on Tuesday.
The man in his 40s has admitted criminal guilt. He was remanded in custody for four weeks on Friday.
The charges have been expanded to include the murder of mother and daughter, following the girl’s death at Rikshospitalet, the East Police District stated on Tuesday afternoon.
– The investigation suggests that the girl was also subjected to suffocation. Her life could not be saved, the police write.
The relatives have been notified that the police are issuing the death message.
The murder suspect has also been informed of the death.

The crime was committed in the house the family rented outside the municipal center of Ask. The deceased’s husband contacted the police himself.
The man has explained to the police that he wanted to take the life of his wife, the child, and himself. But along the way, he changed his mind. He is said to have given his daughter life-saving first aid.
– He explained that it was not something he had planned over time. It was more something that arose in the situation, an impulse that came at that moment, said the defendant’s lawyer Hilde Mo about the murder.
She confirms that the background according to the murder suspect is separation and financial pressure. The man has provided detailed statements to the police about the violent incident.
The family moved to Gjerdrum on July 1. Late in October, the man from whom they rented the house, Michael Imara, received a message from the woman that they were terminating the rental agreement. They were set to move out in February.
In a text message, the woman explained the reason: The couple was to separate.
– She said that the relationship between them was not good, Michael Imara (45) told VG.
VG has seen the relevant SMS, in which she wrote among other things:
“I know we said we would live here for at least a year, but we didn’t know back then that it would end like this between us two.”
The tragedy has made a strong impression in the local community.
– This hurts for a village like Gjerdrum, says parish priest Jakob Furuseth to VG.
The murdered woman worked as a care worker in the municipality. The daughter attended kindergarten.
– There is an entire service affected by this incident. People are left with heavy thoughts and sorrow, says the head of the psychosocial crisis team in Gjerdrum, Yulia Haugland.
