The ATR-72 aircraft of Voepass Airlines, which was on a flight from Cascavel in the state of Paraná to Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo, crashed in a residential area in the city of Vinhedo, north of São Paulo, with 58 passengers and a crew of 4.
According to reports from the Brazilian press, there were no survivors from the plane.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that everyone on the plane lost their lives and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
Images on social media show the moment of the plane’s crash and that firefighters arrived at the accident site, with the aircraft engulfed in flames.
