Tragic Murder-Suicide Shocks Coimbatore Community
Coimbatore was left in shock and disbelief after a gruesome murder-suicide was discovered in a quiet neighborhood in Vadavalli. The incident unfolded when the police entered the locked house of Rajesh, a 34-year-old engineer, due to a foul smell emanating from the premises. Inside, they found Rajesh hanging lifeless, along with his wife Lakshaya (29), their 10-year-old daughter Yaksita, and Rajesh’s mother Prema (74), all dead from poisoning.
The discovery sent shockwaves throughout the community, as the family had only recently settled in Vembu Avenue, having moved just six months ago. Investigators immediately began raiding the house for clues, leading them to stumble upon a poignant handwritten letter penned by Rajesh before he took his own life. The police promptly seized the letter and initiated a vigorous investigation.
As the investigation unfolded, authorities uncovered a startling motive behind the tragic incident. It came to light that Lakshaya had developed a close friendship with a teacher from Chinmaya School. Believing that the teacher would fulfill her financial needs, Lakshaya had frequently requested and received money from her friend, even going so far as accepting money on behalf of her own friends. To date, an astonishing sum of Rs.31 lakh had been given to Lakshaya.
However, complications arose when one of the friends, who had provided money to the teacher, demanded repayment. Upon discovering that the money had been given to Lakshaya, the friend confronted both Lakshaya and her husband Rajesh. The friend presented bank transaction records as evidence, indicating that the money had indeed been transferred to Lakshaya. This confrontation escalated the dispute between Rajesh and Lakshaya, eventually leading to the tragic outcome.
In light of these revelations, the police summoned the teacher who had provided money to Lakshaya for questioning at the local police station. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to locate the teacher’s friend, who is also expected to be interrogated regarding the financial transactions.
