Tragic Train Incident in Livadeia: Mother Clings for Life as Train Drags Her 50 Meters

by time news
The dramatic moments experienced by the 38-year-old woman, who was dragged by the train for 50 meters along the platform on Saturday night, are described as she was trapped by the doors of train 520 while trying to disembark at Livadia station.

The 38-year-old mother of three children, of whom only one managed to get off the train, speaks to protothema.gr and refers to a criminal behavior that could have cost her life.

She says that the train started moving without the door closing and without any employee noticing that the woman was “hanging” in the air. “Other people were getting off, I was almost last. I was getting ready to disembark; no one was there to press the green button, so I pressed it myself. I first lowered my little one, who is 8 years old, and just as I was about to get off as well, the train started without the door closing. First, the train started and then the door closed. Half of me was outside and the other half was inside,” the woman stated.

“The train continued and left for about ten minutes. I was shouting ‘help,’ the people outside were shouting, but they couldn’t hear. The train had picked up speed and was going, I was in the air. The door was opening and closing, only my foot was inside,” explained the 38-year-old passenger, who at that moment saw her 8-year-old daughter running behind the train and screaming. “My little one was outside, she was left outside and was shouting ‘mom.’ She couldn’t catch me and was running behind the train,” the 38-year-old said.

“People were shouting; they heard the screams and the train stopped. Otherwise, it would have taken me with it and I would have fallen. It had speed and we were like that for 10 minutes,” she continues.

At the same time, she also speaks about the dismissive behavior of the train driver when someone from the passengers asked him to stop the route to call the Police.

“I didn’t even go to find the driver. I went to check on my child to see if she was okay. Someone else, a passenger, went to call the Police. ‘Wait, I have called the Police,’ the driver told him, and he insulted the driver, saying ‘I’m in a hurry, I have a schedule,’” the 38-year-old mentions.
