British multimillionaire Mike Lynch is the fifth of the six missing persons from the sinking of the yacht Bayesian to be found. At this time, only the body of his daughter, Hannah, 18, remains to be located and recovered.

On Wednesday, the third day of the search, divers brought ashore four bodies: that of Morgan Stanley International president Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy, attorney Chris Morvillo, and his wife Nada.

The first confirmed fatality of the sinking, found on Monday, is the yacht’s chef, a Canadian who lived in Antigua and Barbuda. The bodies are being taken to morgues for formal identification and autopsy.

Out of a total of 22 people, 15 survived, including a one-year-old baby, who were rescued by a nearby sailing boat.

Italian authorities have interrogated the captain of the boat – James Catfield – for over two hours, trying to gather more information to determine the causes of the tragedy. The investigation is looking into whether the necessary preventive measures were taken in light of weather warnings indicating the approach of a storm that turned a large vessel, measuring 56 meters in length, upside down in a matter of minutes.

Fourth day of searches

The Italian coast guard set out early Thursday morning towards the location where the Bayesian sank, on the fourth day of search operations.

In addition to divers, remotely operated underwater vehicles are being used along with naval units.

The vessel sank in the early hours of Monday in Porticello, in northern Sicily, during a storm, while it was moored about a kilometer from the shore.
