After record attendance this summer on its lines, the SNCF is increasing its promotional operations. This time, the railway company is displaying low prices on its European routes, more precisely Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

Until September 17, SNCF Voyageurs is offering tickets “starting” from 39 euros, on trains which run from October 1 to December 8, with DB-SNCF Voyageurs (Germany), TGV Lyria (Switzerland) and TGV INOUI to ‘Spain. The SNCF even promises fares from 29 euros, from Montpellier, Nîmes, Valence to Figueras, Girona and Barcelona in Spain.

“This offer is valid for a one-way second class ticket, on certain days and on certain trains on selected destinations in Europe to and from France. Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable,” specifies the company.

Furthermore, the SNCF announces that reservations for the future (and highly anticipated) night train between Paris and Berlin, the return of which is announced for December 11, “will be open very soon”, as well as those for the night train Paris-Vienna.

With 24 million passengers on main lines this summer, SNCF beat its 2022 record. International TGVs (including Eurostar, Thalys and Ouigo in Spain) simultaneously transported 6 million passengers (+ 4%) and night trains 215,000 sleepers on rails (+ 15%).

Asked about the price of TGVs, often considered high, the CEO of SNCF, Christophe Fanichet, pointed out at the beginning of September that one in two leisure tickets was sold this summer for less than 45 euros. At the start of the school year, 100,000 Ouigo tickets were on sale for 10 euros on September 6 and 7.
