A difficult Sunday afternoon for travelers at Montparnasse station. Due to a power outage in Massy, the circulation of TGV and Ouigo trains was severely impacted, causing delays of several hours.

According to SNCF, contacted by LCI, the origin of the problem is “a power supply fault”. An electrical power cable was “broken at the entrance to the tunnel”. If the company was banking on a resumption of traffic from 6:30 p.m. this Sunday evening, the disruptions remain numerous.

More than five hours late on arrival

At 6 p.m., the SNCF announced that “the incident on the Atlantique high-speed line” was “finished”. “Train circulation is gradually resuming. However, delays will continue until the end of the day,” it was written on his website. As it stands, expected delays range from ten minutes to two hours departing from Montparnasse station and from one hour and a half to more than five hours for arrivals.

The incident gave rise to a “rescue operation” in the afternoon for a train stopped on the track at Marcoussis in Essonne. The locomotive had to be moved to allow normal traffic to resume and the passengers were evacuated.
