Speaker of the National Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s vision to implement Smart Bangladesh from Digital Bangladesh is a breakthrough step. Trained young entrepreneurs will advance the smart Bangladesh of tomorrow.

He said these things during the opening ceremony of the construction of ‘Joy Smart Service and Employment Training Center’ at Pirganj Upazila Parishad square in Rangpur on Sunday (March 17) as the chief guest. This training center was built under the digital connectivity project of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury said, ‘Sajib Wazed Joy is a gifted child of Rangpur. He is the creator of Digital Bangladesh. He is advancing the plan of smart Bangladesh of the future. Therefore, by setting up this digital center in his name, the youth will take the services of information technology and develop their skills and devote themselves to the development of the country.’

He said, ‘Besides setting up Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation Training Center, Joy Set Center will create new skilled entrepreneurs to provide more new services to build Smart Bangladesh.’

The Speaker said, ‘Jai Set Center will be set up on a floor of 5000 square feet on the fifth floor of the Upazila Parishad complex. People of Pirganj will get various government e-services including information technology services from this center.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said, ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s smart gift will be to improve their skills by distributing a laptop to women entrepreneurs. Rangpur will be transformed as a smart economic hub.’

At the beginning of the program, the Speaker placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu located in the Pirganj Government High School grounds on the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day. Later, the speaker distributed a total of 1,900 laptops among women entrepreneurs under the ‘Her Power Project: Empowering Women through Technology’ project.
