Chethiyathoppu : Training for disaster management and rescue team was conducted in Ponnangovil village next to Chethiyathopu. Volunteers, youth and women of the disaster rescue team from the villages of Paraduar, Parathurchavadi, Ponnangovil, Boothangudi, Kilnatham, Chakangudi participated in the training. Disaster Management Instructor Periya Naiki led and trained.
Orathur Revenue Inspector Abirami, VAO, Paraduar North Mohanraj, South Sivamurugan, Bootangudi Vanathi, Kilnatham Karthik, Chakangudi, Ayipettai Vinayakam took the lead. During storms and rains, the rescue team should separate the tension of the people. They explained about precautionary measures, search, first aid and safe rescue of people during calamities.
