NAVAL SCHOOL Brazil

On December 9, the epaulet award ceremony for the “Vicomte du Cap Froid” class of the Brazilian Naval Academy was held in Brazil. Among the 192 cadets, two young Cameroonians brilliantly completed their 5-year course in naval sciences.

Excellent training

Coming to specialize respectively in mechanics & propulsion and electronics, these two Cameroonian cadets obtained their license in naval sciences as well as an officer training certificate. They therefore officially join the officer corps of the Cameroonian Navy.

To top it off, the ceremony took place in the presence of the Brazilian Minister of Defense and the Chiefs of Staff, testifying to the importance given to the military partnership between Brazil and Cameroon. It was the Cameroonian defense attaché Vikram Baba Tatason who solemnly presented them with their epaulettes.

A fruitful cooperation

With 8 other Cameroonian trainees currently in training, our country is consolidating its place as the first African contingent in this prestigious Brazilian naval school. Proof of the close ties established between the two armies, also visible at the army academy where again many Cameroonian cadets are trained.

This fruitful cooperation, requested by the Minister of Defense Beti Assomo Joseph, allows the new generation of Cameroonian officers to acquire excellent international know-how. Enough to guarantee the future of our armed forces, and establish our position as regional leader.
