Telecom companies are working on new quality of service rules. They have also been asked to submit a report regarding this. Now TRAI has said that all telecom providers will have to submit compliance reports by October 1. Earlier it was said that they are considering reducing the burden on them. They are also working continuously for this. TRAI also held a meeting with service providers on August 21 and the last date for entering the input was fixed as August 27. TRAI also issued a notification on Thursday and said, ‘Inputs have not been entered by the service provider yet. Its date was extended earlier also.’ TRAI had released tight quality norms regarding 4G and 5G networks. Along with this, it was asked to impose a fine in case of not matching the benchmark. If any company does this, it was asked to pay a fine. Mobile service outage was also included in this.
TRAI had also talked about a format. In this, wireless and wireline access providers were asked to submit reports under a certain format. They had to submit the report within 15 days after the quarter ended. The new scale issued by TRAI will be used to measure fixed, wireless and broadband services. It was also asked to work on improving call drops and quality of telecommunication service. The new regulations are going to be implemented from October 1.
To achieve Quality of Service (QoS), the penalty imposed on operators by TRAI was also increased. Earlier the fine was up to 50 thousand rupees, but now it has been increased to 1 lakh rupees. Apart from this, a decision has been taken to increase the penalty amount on different things. In this, the penalty has been said to be up to 1 lakh, 2 lakh, 5 lakh and 10 lakh rupees. That is, this fine will be imposed for violating the rules.
