Transfesa Logistics begins to operate standard gauge trains

Between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe

The freight operator Transfesa has obtained the extension of the security certificate to operate in the border section from Perpignan to Figueres in standard gauge.

(30/01/2023)

The trains are powered by two of the five UIC Euro 6000 gauge locomotives that the operator has received. The second of the locomotives received came into operation at the end of January with the slogan “I am European”. The remaining three locomotives will be delivered between 2023 and 2024.

The first UIC standard gauge service was carried out from Perpignan to the Port of Barcelona with a train carrying finished vehicles. This milestone is achieved after Transfesa Logistics has obtained an extension of the security certificate to operate in the border section from Perpignan to Figueres on this type of road.
