The Ministry of Transport announced today, Thursday, its intention to open a number of new lines for transporting students to a number of Iraqi colleges and universities in Baghdad.
The Director General of Passenger and Delegation Transport, Karim Kazim, said in a statement received by the (INA): “Under the direct direction of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, the company has prepared an integrated plan to activate and open a number of lines for transporting students towards a number of colleges, including Al-Bayan University and other lines towards the University of Baghdad, the University of Technology, and others.”
He added, “We will work on expanding the lines for transporting students to the governorates,” noting that “there is an integrated project that will be launched in the coming days, specifically in Anbar Governorate, which includes transportation lines dedicated to students from their residential areas to schools and universities in Ramadi.”
He pointed out that “there is a plan to activate lines for students in Nineveh Governorate and Muthanna, Wasit and Dhi Qar Governorates, successively, and we have made repeated visits to those governorates for this specific purpose.”
The statement pointed out that, “Last year witnessed the opening of mass transit lines within the University of Baghdad as well as the University of Iraq, while these lines will be strengthened to complement the first step.”
