Raja Kannabhan, who has been the Transport Minister, has been transferred. Rajakannanpan has been transferred as the Minister of Backward Classes Welfare. Sivasankar, who was the Minister for Welfare of the Backward Classes, has been transferred as the Minister of Transport.

The cabinet reshuffle is the first in a cabinet headed by First Minister MK Stalin. The Rajakannapan department has been relocated following allegations that the Mudukulathur regional development officer was criticized for caste.
