Transport Minister S.C. Sivasankar’s Consultation Meeting on Operation of Transport Corporation Buses in Chennai Metropolitan Area

A consultation meeting was held with the relevant departmental officers at the Chennai Metropolitan Development Corporation office meeting under the leadership of Transport Minister S.C. Sivasankar with the relevant departmental officers regarding the regular operation of the transport corporation buses from Chengalpattu district, Klambakkam Kalyanar Centenary bus terminal to the southern districts.

In this meeting, it was advised to take appropriate action regarding the departure of all Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation buses from this terminal and omnibuses going to southern districts should completely depart from Clambakkam Bus Terminal.

It has also been advised that the police should take serious action to prevent passengers from being picked up by Omni buses from Chennai Koyambedu and other important places to the southern districts.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary C. Samayamurthy, Chennai Metropolitan Development Committee Member Secretary Ansul Mishra, Chennai Integrated Metropolitan Transport Committee Special Officer I. Jayakumar, Transport Commissioner A. Shanmugasundaram, Municipal Transport Corporation Managing Director Dr. Alby John Varghese, Chennai Metropolitan Police were present in the meeting. Additional Commissioner (Transport) R. Sudhakar and many others were present.
