From now on, the government wants to turn the page and come to the aid of those who need it the most, the poorest French people who have no choice but to take public transport to get to their place of work, notably. This is why the executive is considering the creation of a transport check of 50 euros from 2023. A new exceptional aid which should be included in the 2023 finance bill (PLF). Who would be affected? Users of public transport such as the TER or the Transiliens according to information from the Parisian. This new device is being studied to try to counter the significant rise in the price of energy and train tickets, in particular. A payment directly to the bank account of public transport subscribers holds the rope for the moment. This aid would complement systems already in place such as the Macron bonus, the energy check or the inflation bonus.
This transport check could target the most modest subscribers to the middle classes. The aim is to support travelers who use the train for their daily journeys. The regions, financially competent in matters of transport, would not come into play in the payment mechanism, borne by the State. The transport check could concern the most modest households, up to the middle classes on daily journeys, such as home-work journeys.
