TRAFFIC JAM NEAR PNC ARENA AS TRAVIS SCOTT’S CONCERT POSTPONED

Raleigh, N.C. – Friday night witnessed a massive traffic jam near PNC Arena as the second night of the State Fair coincided with a highly anticipated Travis Scott concert. However, fans were disappointed as PNC Arena announced the postponement of Travis Scott’s show scheduled for Saturday night.

Despite no official reason being given for the postponement, PNC Arena urged fans to hold on to their tickets as they would be honored for the yet-to-be-determined new date. Many disappointed concert-goers voiced their frustrations but showed their willingness to wait for the rescheduled event.

Dylan Coulillard, who drove from Clayton for the concert, shared his experience, saying, “I accidentally turned into the fair parking lot but it was all good after that.” Lines of thousands of eager fans snaked around the front of the arena, anxiously waiting for the doors to open.

Kas Rosen and Patrick Byrne, who made the journey from Richmond, shared their surprise upon arriving in Raleigh to find out that the concert wasn’t the only attraction drawing large crowds. “We saw the Ferris Wheel on the drive,” Kas said. “Traffic afterward is going to be terrible, but we’ll deal with it.”

Indeed, traffic crawled along Hillsborough Street, offering a clear view of the Ferris Wheel, while similar congestion was observed on Blue Ridge Road. To alleviate some of the congestion in West Raleigh, the Department of Transportation stepped in by opening full access in both directions of Hillsborough Street from I-440 to the new Blue Ridge Connector. The DOT also urged drivers to follow the new signs and directions provided by law enforcement due to changes on I-440 at the Wade Avenue merge.

For those planning to attend the fair on Saturday, several park-and-ride shuttles were made available to alleviate the traffic situation.

Deanna Bradshaw, who drove over to the fair with her cousin from Burlington, described their journey, saying, “It was a little bit of a hike but it was all right. Traffic was congested, but we made it.”

As disappointed fans await the new date for Travis Scott’s concert, the authorities are taking necessary measures to manage the traffic congestion brought on by the State Fair and other events happening in Raleigh.
