The commitment list for the Annexus Pro-Am at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open has gained significant traction with the addition of three Arizona Cardinals players. Tight end Trey McBride, linebacker Zaven Collins, and safety Budda Baker are set to participate in the Pro-Am on Wednesday, February 4th, the day before the main tournament begins at TPC Scottsdale.
According to a tournament release, the presence of local athletes is a key draw for fans. “Few things resonate more with our fans than seeing Arizona athletes take part in tournament week,” stated a tournament official. “Trey, Budda and Zaven represent the present and future of the Arizona Cardinals. They will certainly add a special local connection and energy to the WM Phoenix Open.”
The Cardinals contingent joins an already impressive roster of Pro-Am participants, including Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald, Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd, and Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith. These high-profile commitments underscore the event’s appeal to both sports enthusiasts and celebrities.
McBride’s Breakout Season Fuels Pro-Am Appearance
Trey McBride is coming off a career year, establishing himself as a premier tight end in the NFL. He recorded 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns – all personal bests. Despite a challenging season overall for the Cardinals, McBride emerged as a standout performer, earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
Baker and Collins Bring Defensive Prowess to the Golf Course
Budda Baker continued his consistent performance, achieving his sixth consecutive season with at least 102 tackles. In 16 starts, Baker also tallied one interception, 0.5 sacks, five passes defensed, and a fumble recovery. Zaven Collins contributed to the Cardinals defense with 1.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, and two fumble recoveries across 17 games, including nine starts.
Cardinals’ Coaching Search Continues
The Cardinals organization is currently navigating a period of transition, having recently concluded their search for a new head coach following the departure of Jonathan Gannon. Reports indicate the team has narrowed its focus to three candidates: Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, who is currently meeting with the team, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, and former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris.
The Annexus Pro-Am is scheduled for February 4th at TPC Scottsdale, promising a compelling blend of athletic talent and competitive spirit.
