The Pechersk District Court postponed the hearing of the case of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on treason to Wednesday, December 19, said Oleksiy Goncharenko, deputy of the European Solidarity party. Mr. Poroshenko said that the meeting was postponed because the Ukrainian authorities are afraid of him.

“The trial in the Poroshenko case will take place on Wednesday. The meeting was rescheduled for January 19 at 14:00 (15:00 Moscow time— “b”) “, – wrote Mr. Goncharenko in the Telegram.

“They got scared, and today – January 17 – for this incompetent green bewilderment will be the beginning of the end of their … populist era,” the former Ukrainian president said at a rally after the trial (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The case of Petro Poroshenko is connected with the supply of coal from the Donbass. Under the articles “Financing of terrorism”, “High treason” and “Creation of a terrorist organization”, he faces imprisonment for up to 15 years. Earlier, the ex-president stated that 130 criminal cases were initiated against him, but about 40 of them were closed. His lawyer, Ilya Novikov, claims that there is an arrest warrant for the ex-president. Earlier, the court arrested all his property.
