Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday, that the tribes contributed to enabling the people to advance and overcome the turns, pointing to the honorable positions of all Iraqi tribes, especially their historical role in supporting and leading the movement in the immortal revolution of 1920.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by the (INA): “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received, today, a number of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries of the Zubaa tribe from the Khan Dhari area west of Baghdad, headed by the head of the Iraqi National Project Gathering, Jamal Abdul-Wahhab al-Dhari.”
He added, “During the meeting, the overall social and service conditions of the Abu Ghraib district and the approaches to Anbar Governorate were discussed, as well as the role of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries in consolidating community peace and paving the way for the government’s development plans to proceed in order to meet citizens’ aspirations, strengthen the foundations of the state, and the rule of law and the constitution.”
The Prime Minister referred to “the honorable positions of all Iraqi tribes, especially their historical role in supporting and leading our people’s movement in the immortal revolution of 1920, as well as their firm position against terrorism and its foreign elements,” indicating that “the tribes, as a prominent social component, contributed to enabling our people to advance and overcome the major turns and challenges that they faced in their contemporary history.”
For his part, Al-Dhari and the delegation of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries expressed their thanks to the Prime Minister for receiving them and his constant support for various social and political activities, stressing “their support for everything that strengthens the popular and social fabric of Iraqis in the various governorates, and the continuous work to enhance brotherhood and cohesion among all the diverse Iraqi spectrums.”
