A Gram Sabha meeting was held yesterday in all panchayats in Krishnagiri district on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of the country.
The village council meeting was held in Katikanapalli village near Krishnagiri municipality and was presided over by village president Gayatri Govinda Raj. Deputy PTO, Shivaji presided. Amirjan, 91, who participated in the war with Pakistan and Bangladesh, and ex-servicemen including Govindasamy, Devaraj, Jayakant, Jayapalan, Murthy, Gunasekar, Arumugam were honored with bonnets. In the program that followed, the panchayat administration, the general fund expenditure and the work carried out were discussed. In honor of the 45 sanitation workers working in Panj, everyone wore a shawl.
