The former CEO of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, has died after a two-year battle with cancer, it was reported today in a post on the social media platform X by Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google.
Wojcicki was one of the first employees of YouTube. She passed away at the age of 56.
“I am incredibly saddened by the loss of my dear friend Susan Wojcicki, who lived with cancer for two years. She was at the center of Google’s story, and it is hard to imagine the world without her.” Pichai stated in his post.
Wojcicki was one of the most important women in the tech industry, having resigned from her position at YouTube in 2023 after serving in the role for nine years.
