A triceratops skull and a guitar that belonged to Louis XIV’s niece will be auctioned on November 21 in Paris, announced Christie’s, which presented the items to the public this Tuesday (14).

“’Baby Jane’, a rare and exceptional skull of Triceratops, one of the most famous dinosaur species” is part of the 44 lots in this auction of rare objects. Discovered in 1988 in South Dakota (United States), it has an estimated value of between 300,000 and 500,000 euros (between R$1.5 million and 2.6 million).

Another notable piece is a guitar dated 1692 that “belonged to the niece of Louis XIV” Elisabeth-Charlotte d’Orléans and that is “signed by the grandson of [o luthier] René Voboam, Jean-Baptiste,” according to a statement from Christie’s.

The auction house indicated that “currently [apenas] is aware of around 30 guitars made by luthiers from the Voboam dynasty.” It is estimated that the instrument could be sold for between 20,000 and 40,000 euros (between R$105,000 and 210,000).

Also on sale will be a neoprene wedding dress, a design by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel’s winter 2014-2015 collection. It is estimated that the piece could be sold for between 50,000 and 70,000 euros.
