The Office of the Attorney General (FGE) reported this Tuesday, July 23, on the start of the case Triple Aa criminal investigation that investigates an alleged crime of illegal marketing of fuels in Guayaquil y Miracle.
The agency, in its X account, indicated that its staff and police execute seven raids in both locations. Agents have inspected computers, documents, invoices and electronic devices.
These proceedings take place 12 days after the National Government denounced the mayor of Guayaquil, Achilles Alvarezhis two brothers and five other people for allegedly having committed the aforementioned crime. The complaint was filed on Thursday, July 11, before the FGE by the director of the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural ResourcesFranklin Erreyes.
The complaint also targets two fuel sales and distribution companies: Fuelcorp S.A. y Copedesa Gasgrupo S.A. In the latter, the Álvarez brothers are shareholders.

He also said that it would have been “easier” to request the information directly, “without the need for any urgent action.”
