In Kazan, at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Tatarstan named after M. Jalil, performances under the direction of the chief conductor and musical director of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Honored Artist, laureate of international competitions Eyyub Guliyev were held with triumph. The Azerbaijani conductor took part in three performances with the participation of famous opera and ballet artists. As reported by Day.Az, the musician told Trend about this.

The opera “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi performed by soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinsky, Ural Opera (Yekaterinburg) and Kazan Opera Theatre was received with great interest and was sold out. At the end of the opera, the audience gave a standing ovation to the participants of the opera – Alexander Krasnov (baritone), Vener Protasova (soprano), Sergey Osavin (tenor), Mikhail Kolelishvili (bass), Lyubov Dobrynina (mezzo-soprano) and Svetlana Bessonova.

Two different casts of soloists were selected for the famous ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky “Swan Lake”. The leading soloists of the Kazan National Opera Theatre, Honored Artists of Tatarstan Kristina Andreeva-Zakharova (Odette-Odile), Oleg Ivenko (Jester), Il’nur Gaifullin (Prince Siegfried), Anton Polodyuk (Rothbart) presented the choreography of M. Petipa and L. Ivanov. At the next performance, the most difficult leading parts were performed for the first time by talented young soloists of the theatre Ekaterina Ledachkova and Salavat Bulatov.

Let us recall that in 2023, the Tatarstan National Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil made an offer to Eyyub Guliyev to cooperate as a guest conductor of the theater. Since 2021, the Azerbaijani conductor has performed within the walls of the theater in the performances “1001 Nights” by Fikret Amirov, “Nabucco”, “Rigoletto”, “Aida” by G. Verdi, “Turandot” by G. Puccini, “Pagliacci” by R. Leoncavallo and “The Elixir of Love” by G. Donizetti.
