Tromsø Targets Young Striker August Priske as Club Seeks Reinforcements Ahead of Autumn

by time news

Tromsø is in search of reinforcements ahead of autumn and has set its sights on 20-year-old August Priske. According to what Nettavisen has learned, TIL has reached an agreement with the Danish club FC Midtjylland regarding a deal for the forward.

However, this does not mean that the transfer is completely finalized, as according to the information, Priske himself has not yet agreed and accepted a transfer to Tromsø. TIL, however, hopes to convince Priske to make the trip north.

Several Norwegian clubs are said to have closely followed the young forward and are interested in the player; however, at the current time, only Tromsø has reached an agreement with Midtjylland about a deal.

For Tromsø, they wish to have the player ready so that he can be registered for a potential next qualifying round in Europe by midnight Tuesday next week.

Nettavisen is aware that on Monday, there will be meetings in Denmark, where a decision regarding whether Priske will accept the offer from Tromsø will be discussed.

The local newspaper iTromsø also reports on TIL’s pursuit of the young Dane on Monday afternoon.

Viking is also lurking in the background and has considered Priske specifically. Up until now, Viking has not been willing to meet the financial demands required to reach an agreement. It remains to be seen whether the Stavanger club will enter the battle for the player with full force, or if they will steer clear and prioritize other targets.

Several big names have left Viking recently, and the club wishes to strengthen before a fall where they are in contention for the top positions. Fredrikstad is also said to have shown interest in the player, but the Østfold club is not reportedly in any concrete discussions, as Nettavisen understands it.

Priske is based at FC Midtjylland and has been loaned out to both PSV’s youth teams and was recently with FC Eindhoven.

He scored three goals in 27 appearances in the second tier of Dutch football last season.

The 20-year-old also has youth international caps for Denmark and has one Superliga match.

Now it seems likely that he is nearing an exit from the Danish club and that Norway could be the next stop. Priske is also the son of Feyenoord coach Brian Priske.

Tromsø is also looking for reinforcement in the full-back position.
