Not everyone is happy with the upcoming changes in bus services. All suggestions should be taken seriously. Those affected fear that they will be on the road longer in the future or will need a shared taxi.

The new timetable for public transport in Burgenland presented on Wednesday – the “Krone” reported – is not met with goodwill everywhere. The first reactions from dissatisfied commuters began to arrive the very next day. One affected person reported that the new timetable would mean that it would take him half an hour longer from Güssing to Vienna in the morning. Since that would cause problems with working hours, he would have to take an earlier bus. But he only leaves in St. Michael – to get there he would need a shared taxi.Letter to the Provincial Council and the Provincial GovernorThe mayor of Schandorf, Bernhard Herics, even wrote a letter to the provincial governor and the competent provincial councilor. His criticism is similar. Previously, you could take the G1 from Schandorf directly to Vienna and back. In the future, commuters would have to take a shared taxi to Großpetersdorf and only get on the bus there. As a solution to the problem, Herics proposes running line B016 via Schandorf so that commuters can take the bus to Großpetersdorf and do not have to order a taxi. “It is already clear that the situation will get worse for a number of daily commuters,” warns ÖVP traffic spokesman Hans Unger. In some cases, those affected would lose an hour a day. It will therefore also be worthwhile for the Chamber of Labor to take a look at the new bus timetables. Criticism taken seriously At the office of Provincial Councilor Heinrich Dorner, it is emphasized that the Burgenland Transport Authority (VBB) looks at every suggestion in detail and also responds. The criticism is taken seriously and an attempt is made to work out satisfactory solutions. The goal is to create an offer that appeals to as many people as possible. The ÖVP, on the other hand, is asked to work constructively and not to unsettle commuters with their statements, according to the Dorner office.
