The Israeli army says it warns civilians before each bombing in Gaza. What about it? The Franceinfo True or False unit investigated.
The Israeli army claims that civilian populations are warned when it strikes targets in Gaza. On X, the Arabic-speaking IDF spokesperson addresses residents, specifying the targeted neighborhoods. “Residents of the Gaza Strip, pay attention! Hamas operations require the IDF to operate in your place of residence. For your safety, you must leave your place of residence immediately.”, he wrote. Alerts are also made through leaflets, dropped on residential areas.
Systematic alerts?
For a former correspondent in Jerusalem, the alerts are very real. “It could be phone calls to landlines or cell phones. It can also be text messages.
