Trump attacks Harris after hostage bodies found in Gaza

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was quick to exploit the incident of the recovery of the bodies of 6 Israeli detainees in a tunnel south of the Gaza Strip, to launch an attack on current President Joe Biden and his Democratic Party candidate, Kamala Harris.

“This is happening because Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden are terrible leaders,” Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday. “Americans are being slaughtered overseas while Kamala mocks and lies about Gold Star families, and Biden sleeps on the beach for the 16th straight day of vacation.”

“We mourn the senseless deaths of Israeli hostages, including our wonderful American citizen, Hersh Goldberg Polin,” Trump continued. “Sadly, this is the complete lack of leadership that Kamala and Biden represent, as they only care about strengthening the Justice Department against their political opponent,” referring to himself.

“Just like the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster that claimed the lives of 13 Americans, Kamala and Biden’s rule has not only put lives at risk, but is directly responsible for unnecessary deaths that should never have happened,” he added.

The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it had retrieved the bodies of 6 detainees from a tunnel south of the Gaza Strip, which sparked protests and calls for a strike in Israel due to the failure to rescue them.

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu do more to recover the remaining hostages held in the Gaza Strip. The largest labor union called for a general strike across Israel on Monday.

An Israeli Health Ministry spokesman said a forensic examination determined they were “killed by multiple bullets at close range, between 48 and 72 hours ago.”

“Netanyahu is responsible for the killing of Israeli prisoners, and he is keen to kill everyone to continue the war, so the Israelis must choose between Netanyahu or the deal,” movement leader Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters.
