Former US President Donald Trump called the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris a disgrace, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“I’m a very broad-minded person. But what they did was a disgrace,” Trump said of the ceremony in an interview with Fox News.

The 2024 Summer Olympics, from which Russia has been suspended, are not being broadcast in Russia on any TV channel, including the opening ceremony of the Games, which took place on July 26. During the ceremony, a parody of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” was presented. Individual fragments of the performance were widely distributed on social networks, and their content caused a discussion both in Russia and abroad. In particular, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov called the parody disgusting and was happy for Russian TV viewers who were deprived of the opportunity to see it. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in turn, said that the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris showed the West’s lack of understanding of culture and public morality.

The Olympic Games in Paris run from July 26 to August 11.
