Former President Donald Trump holds a narrow lead over current President Joe Biden in the swing state of North Carolina.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this is evidenced by survey data from Quinnipiac University.

The poll showed Trump narrowly beating Biden, with 48% of North Carolina voters’ support compared to Biden’s 46%.

When included in the list of independent candidates, Trump received 41%, Biden – 38%.

At the same time, 12% of respondents supported independent candidate Robert Kennedy, and 3% supported independent candidate Cornel West and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

The poll was conducted April 4-8 among 1,401 registered voters in the state and had a margin of error of 2.6 percentage points.

In US electoral practice, “swing” states are those in which, on the eve of the presidential election, there is an approximately equal level of popularity of candidates from both major parties.

Often, it is the votes of voters in swing states that determine the victory of one or another candidate in the presidential election.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
