The ActiVote company published the results of a survey, according to which the former US President Donald Trump ahead of the vice president Kamalu Harris to 1.2%.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, the survey was conducted from October 3 to 8 among 1 thousand potential voters of the presidential elections, the median date of the survey was October 6. The average expected error is 3.1%. It is noted that Trump is leading among rural and suburban voters, while Harris enjoys support in cities. In the 18-49 age group, Harris has the lead, while Trump leads among voters over 50. Harris leads among women, while Trump leads among men.
Both candidates receive about 80% support from their party supporters, with Harris holding a slight advantage among independent voters. Trump leads his opponent in support among white voters, while Harris receives 73% of the African-American vote and a majority – 59% – of the Latino vote. The differences by income and education are small, with Harris holding a slight lead among low-income and college-educated voters, while Trump leads among the wealthiest and those with less than a college degree.
Across the political spectrum, both Harris (96%) and Trump (95%) have successfully held their base of supporters. Trump leads among centrists.
According to ActiVote’s daily tracking poll, Harris’ performance improved for three to four weeks after US President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, after which she held the lead by 5% for two weeks. The gap then narrowed to 2-3% by September 1 and remained at this level for some time. After the September 10 debate, her approval rating began to gradually decline, and Trump now leads her by 1.2%.
The US presidential election will take place on November 5th.
