US presidential candidate Donald Trump offered Robert Kennedy Jr. a high-ranking position in his administration in exchange for support in the election, The Washington Post (WP) reported, citing sources.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to TASS, according to them, Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent candidate for the presidency, was offered a high-ranking position related to health care and medicine in the future administration of Republican Trump if he manages to win the presidential race. According to sources, private conversations on this topic began several hours after the assassination attempt on Trump at a rally on July 13.

Kennedy Jr. confirmed to the publication that he had spoken with Trump, but did not reveal the content of the conversation. The politician stressed that he intends to continue his election campaign. “I have great respect for President Trump for reaching out to me. No one from the Democratic National Committee, high or low, has reached out to me in 18 months. Instead, they raised millions to disrupt my campaign,” Kennedy Jr. said.

He initially intended to run for president as a Democratic candidate, but in the fall of 2023 he announced that he would be an independent candidate.
