Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is ahead of his Democratic rival Kamala Harris in terms of support among American voters by two percentage points (pp). According to the study, 49% of respondents are ready to vote for Trump in the presidential election, 47% of respondents expressed support for Harris. At the same time, 2% of survey participants said that they would vote for any other candidate. Another 3% have not decided who to support in the election race. The survey was conducted from October 20 to 23, and more than 3,400 Americans took part. The error was 1 percentage point.
According to a poll by The New York Times in collaboration with Siena College, Harris and Trump were equal in level of support – 48% of respondents supported Harris, the same number – Trump. In a similar study conducted a few weeks ago, the vice president was ahead of the former occupant of the White House by 3 percentage points. – 49% versus 46%. The chances of the Democratic and Republican candidates being elected are “roughly equal after three months of exceptionally heated debate,” analysts say.
“A bitter debate, two assassination attempts on Trump, dozens of rallies in swing states, and hundreds of millions of dollars spent on advertising appear to have done little to change the trajectory of the race,” the report states.
