Donald Trump’s victory in the November presidential elections would be a huge test of the strength of American democracy, writes Tomáš Etzler, a writer, journalist and former CNN reporter, in the American Dream podcast.

According to him, if elected, Trump is planning a huge change of employees not only at the Ministry of Justice. “He has an army of people ready, his loyalists, that he wants to put in positions and offices. Last week he threatened to lock people up and he did not deny this in a televised debate with Kamala Harris. He says that all the people who cheated in the election will get long-term sentences. If he won, he would definitely try something like that,” says Etzler.
According to him, some American conservatives dream of changing America from a secular republic to a kind of theocracy.

In this context, journalist Tomáš Etzler draws attention to a document called Project 2025, which was prepared by the conservative Heritage Foundation, close to the Republican Party.
“He writes about bans on abortion, they want to put crosses on the walls of schools and that classes start with prayer. He is such an American Taliban. One of the goals of Project 2025 is the connection of religion and the state, as well as the concentration of enormous power in the hands of the president. The ministry should fall under him justice or the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” explains the journalist, who is writing a book about his years spent in the United States.
