Ahead of the US Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, which will be held on January 20th (local time) next year, the ‘Mark’s Great Feast’ will be held in Washington for three days. It is known that the festival will open with a large-scale victory rally for supporters of US President-elect Donald Trump, and will be followed by various events for large donors.
According to the inauguration plan drawn up by President-elect Trump’s inauguration committee reported by ABC News on the 19th, various inauguration-related festivities were scheduled in Washington, D.C., the U.S. capital, for three days from January 18th to 20th next year. The amount raised by the inauguration committee exceeds $150 million (approximately 217.5 billion won), which is expected to be the largest donation gathering for a U.S. president in history.
On the first day, the ‘Make America Great Again (Mark) Victory Rally’ will be held. It is an event that anyone can attend, and it is expected to be a large-scale rally attended by supporters of President-elect Trump from all over the country. A Republican official predicted that President-elect Trump would attend the rally, saying, “It will show that President-elect Trump and his supporters are connected.”
There are also several events that only major donors can enter. Supporters are ranked based on their donation amount, and admission to the event is determined based on their rating. Only the highest-tier supporters who have donated more than $1 million or raised $2 million can attend the small Vice President’s Dinner hosted by Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha.
At the dinner attended by President-elect Trump and his wife Melania, only those who donated more than $250,000 or raised $500,000 were eligible. At the Sunday service attended by Trump and his wife, only those who donated more than $100,000 or raised more than $200,000 were eligible. Only people can enter.
You can attend the inauguration ceremony itself for free, but the competition to get tickets to get a good seat is fierce. The inaugural committee plans to distribute six tickets to the inauguration ceremony to the highest-tier supporters who have donated more than $1 million.
Unusually, foreign leaders are also expected to attend the inauguration ceremony. It is reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, and Argentine President Javier Millais were invited. According to the U.S. State Department, there has not been a foreign leader attending the inauguration of a U.S. president since 1874. Normally, only ambassadors and diplomats from each country attended the inauguration ceremony.
As of the 16th, the pledged donation to the Presidential Inauguration Committee exceeded $150 million. That’s about three times the $62 million raised by Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration committee. It is expected to significantly exceed the $107 million raised by Trump’s inauguration committee in 2017, the largest amount ever raised.
A Republican fundraiser said, “Corporate officials are donating in large numbers to Trump’s inauguration ceremony.” A representative example is that Meta and Amazon, which had an uneasy relationship with President-elect Trump, each donated $1 million to the inauguration ceremony. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, also donated $1 million as an individual.
