Fred Trump, nephew of former US President Donald Trump, described his uncle as “nuclearly crazy” in an interview with ABC News and expressed his intention to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. According to him, Harris’ policies are close to him, and he plans to actively support her campaign.
Fred noted that his relationship with his uncle has always been good, despite their differences in political views. He is ready to campaign for Harris if asked. However, if Donald Trump wins the election and invites him to the inauguration, Fred does not rule out the possibility of attending.
US Vice President Kamala Harris has gained an advantage over Donald Trump in a number of strategically important states, putting her in a favorable position ahead of the upcoming election. According to a Bloomberg poll, Harris has gained 48% support against Trump’s 47% in seven swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
That’s a significant improvement over President Joe Biden’s performance before he dropped out of the race, where he trailed Trump by two percentage points. Bloomberg analysts say Harris has the potential to form an electoral coalition similar to the one that twice brought Barack Obama to the White House and has a clearer path to victory than Biden.
Harris’s support is particularly strong among young, African-American, and Hispanic voters. In all, more than a third of voters in those states said they were more likely to vote now that Harris is in the race. Among African-American and Hispanic voters, that number is 49% and 44%, respectively.
The change in Democratic leadership has also forced Trump to adjust his campaign strategy. The publication notes that Trump is having a hard time deciding on tactics to counter Harris without risking appearing racist or sexist, which could alienate potential voters in key states.
