TS schedules reading of the judgment in the trial of prosecutor Natasha Sulaia

Thirty-six questions were presented, this Wednesday, in Luanda, in the trial of prosecutor Natasha Sulaia, in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, by judge advisor João Fuantoni, who announced the reading of the ruling for the 13th of this month.

The questions are questions, asked by the judge of the case, intended to provide greater details to answers already given throughout the trials.

At the time, the judge advisor highlighted in his reading that the facts date back to 2017, when Natasha Sulaia tried to obtain a warrant to ban Christopher Sugrue, a partner in a commercial partnership relationship with his family, from leaving the country, after the parties had business linked to the management of a housing complex, located on Ilha do Cabo, in Luanda, was interrupted.

He mentioned that in the case file, the defendant, using the capacity of attorney, issued a correspondence, on non-headed paper, with the subject: “Interdiction – International Arrest Warrant against Mr. Christopher Sugrue”, in which he attested that he was indicted in the case 3,771/17 with crimes of breach of trust, qualified theft, threat and entry into someone else’s property.

In it, he added, he requested the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) to ban this foreign businessman, holding more than two nationalities, as soon as he presented himself at the borders of the national territory.

“With this objective, he also sought to use the attorney general’s influence with the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC)”, he clarified.

Speaking to the press, the defense lawyer, Claudino Pereira, said that he expects justice based on the law and the Constitution, stressing that he will await the reading of the ruling, scheduled for Friday, October 13th.
