Bolsonaro may be ineligible

did not comply with the request of the defense of Jair Bolsonaro
(PL-RJ) and determined this Thursday (13) to keep confidential part of the process that could declare the former president ineligible, leaving him out of the 2026 elections.
The action refers to a meeting between the reserve captain and ambassadors at the Alvorada Palace. The episode became known because Bolsonaro propagated lies and attacks on the electoral system. The trial of the case is expected to take place in early May at the plenary of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).
The corregidor highlighted that the parts of the final allegations that make reference to confidential documents must remain confidential, both for the former president and for the PDT, the party responsible for the request for an investigation that could leave Bolsonaro ineligible for eight years.
“Specifically with regard to the final allegations and the MPE’s opinion, secrecy, as already explained, was applied to protect, specifically, the passages that referred to confidential documents and testimonies”, emphasized Benedito Gonçalves.
Bolsonaro tried to go back
Initially, Bolsonaro’s lawyers asked for partial secrecy to be placed on the process. However, this Thursday, the defense requested the suspension of the measure, claiming permission for “public knowledge and scrutiny” of the positions of all parties involved.
“It turns out that, firstly, the report presented does not change the framework that gave rise to the request and determination of secrecy. discuss the evidence produced in the instruction – allowing, by transverse route, the public exposure of the content of information that is reserved for the knowledge of the parties, the MPE and the court until the judgment of the process”, replied the rapporteur.
The action filed by the PDT requests that Bolsonaro and Braga Neto be tried and convicted for misuse of the media and abuse of political power.
