As they explained, the Departmental Electoral Boards (JEDs), must deliver the results expressed in the final acts, through “Document No. 8” to follow the internal processes in the TSE in audit, and that will later be analyzed by the Magistrates, prior to making themselves known to the population.

For his part, magistrate Gabriel Aguilera added that prior to making the results official, they must also resolve annulment appeals filed by different political parties, filed before what was ordered by the CC. In addition, Judge Ranulfo Rojas pointed out that, in addition to what was mentioned by the other robes, they must wait to determine if new appeals will be presented, after the scrutiny review ordered by the High Court.

THE WORK OF ELECTION BOARDS IS HIGHLIGHTED

On Thursday night, the hearings to review the minutes ended, with the presence of prosecutors and members of the JED’s, who in some cases suffered threats and intimidation, which led to a complaint by the general inspector of the TSE, before the Public Ministry (MP).

As explained by the magistrate president of the TSE, Irma Palencia, a compilation of complaints from the Electoral Boards was made and the MP will assign the cases to different Prosecutor’s Offices, according to the type of crimes reported.

In this context, Palencia highlighted the commitment of the 125,000 volunteers, members of the Departmental Electoral Boards, Vote Receiving Boards and other assignments, who collaborated with the country, despite what they experienced during the process of the First Electoral Round.

SECOND ROUND IS MAINTAINED FOR AUGUST 20

The President of the TSE remarked that the second round remains scheduled for August 20, since, despite what happened with the amparo granted by the CC, they are still within the time frame of the Law and the process will continue as contemplated in the electoral calendar.

“The CC, at no time suspends the second round, this is done on August 20,” added Aguilera.

WHAT IS ORDERED BY THE CC

The CC granted an injunction requested by nine political groups, which ordered that they should suspend the qualification and officialization of results so that, by the scheduled date for the second round of the presidential election, everything would have been duly cleared up.

In this sense, the competent electoral bodies should carry out a comparison between the minutes that were part of the electoral process in order to determine if each of them complied with the legal requirements and, if it is reasonably established that the result of the electoral process could have been altered. the vote, the Departmental Electoral Board and/or the Central District proceed to introduce the pertinent modifications or, where appropriate, analyze whether the cases of annulment provided by law concur, a process that ended yesterday.

The amparo was promoted by the general secretaries of the political organizations: CHANGE, MY FAMILY, VALOR, WE CAN, GO, I BELIEVE, UNE, CABAL and AZUL against the TSE.
