Stefanos Tsitsipas got off to a good start in Acapulco
No surprises in the “early” matches at the ATP Tour 500 event in Acapulco on Tuesday (local time). It starts with Frances Tiafoe, who celebrated a rare success against Max Purcell in recent times. Tiafoe won 4:6, 6:3 and 6:0. Purcell won the doubles match with Jordan Thompson in Los Cabos two days ago. After his big coup in Los Cabos, Thompson now had to admit defeat to Aleksander Kovacevic in three close rounds.
Casper Ruud also had to go through three sets, but ultimately defeated Christopher Eubanks 6:4, 6:7 (5) and 6:3. Holger Rune, who was in second place, had no problems. The Dane easily dispatched Michael Mmoh 6:2 and 6:3.
And Stefanos Tsitsipas also made it to the round of 16. Tsitsipas won against Roman Safiullin 6:3 and 6:4. Pleasing from a German perspective: Dominik Koepfer is also through to the next round after beating Terence Atmane 6:4, 4:6 and 6:0.
