The team of the Technical University became the complex champion of the Summer University Sports Games in Kranevo 2024, organized by the Association for University Sports “Akademik”. It was also the largest delegation of the event. Second in the ranking are the representatives of Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski”. and the UNSS team was third.
At the “Aqua Life” complex in Kranevo, competitions were held in a total of eight types of sports. Students demonstrated their skills in beach tennis, beach volleyball, beach soccer, swimming, 3×3 basketball, air badminton and dodgeball. The beach relay was also very spectacular, in in which ten people from each team take part.
The program included demonstrative chess in pairs, as well as teacher tournaments in beach tennis, football and table tennis, where teachers had the opportunity to show that they have not lost their sports capabilities.
“I can define the games in Kranevo as very successful. The students performed excellently and achieved high results. Their desire to play sports is very high and is constantly increasing. We constantly receive requests to include new sports in our program. Beach handball and beach rugby are set to join next year. The Games in Kranevo were the third major event in our calendar, after the Winter Games in Pamporovo and the National “Universiade” in Stara Zagora, which took place at the beginning of the summer,” said the chairman of AUC “Akademik” Assoc. Petar Zografov.
