EU plans to sanction journalist after US Democrats treason threats
A real political earthquake has been caused by the famous American journalist Tucker Carlson who with the interview he got from Russian President Vladimir Putin it has also highlighted the lack of democracy and pluralism that characterizes the supposedly democratic West.
Following threats of treason by Democrats in the US, the EU plans to impose sanctions on the journalist, as current and former MEPs told Newsweek.
Sanctions against Carlson
According to Guy Verhofstadt, former prime minister of Belgium and current member of the European Parliament, the interview with Putin may make Carlson a target for MEPs.
He claimed that the reporter is his “mouthpiece”. former US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
He added that the EU sanctions anyone who “helps” the Russian leader.
“It seems reasonable that the European External Action Service should look into his case as well,” Verhofstadt said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Carlson met and spoke with Putin.
According to the spokesperson, the interview will be published “once it’s ready.”
According to the Wall Street JournalCarlson will publish the interview on February 8.
