Why is Tuesday the 13th considered by many as a “cursed day”?

Tuesday and 13 today, even the prudent have their due. “Grushuzi” day has a lot of “don’ts” and “don’ts” as it is considered to bring bad luck and grushuzi. Prohibitions based on superstitions with or without connection to reality. Today, for example, is not considered a suitable day to start something new or to travel. For the extreme cautious, it is an unsuitable day even to… get out of their house.

Although for the Anglo-Saxons the corresponding day is considered “Friday the 13th” in Greece this particular day is treated “with garlic” in order to ward off evil.

The main reason it is considered Greek, by the Greeks, is that a Tuesday the 13th, in 1453 to be precise, is the day the conquest of the country by the Turks began. It was on that Tuesday that the Fall of Constantinople took place. In fact, some scenarios, the extreme ones, even want the sum of the date 1453 to be the number 13. Double evil, in other words…

The grusouzia of 13….

The Greeks had a special love for superstitions from the depths of time and in connection with the war conflicts of the Fall of the City, they were simply “confirmed”. But that’s not all. 13 is the number following the ‘perfect 12’. This is explained by the fact that:

The Gods of Olympus were twelve, just like the labors of Hercules, the months of the year are twelve, the twelve hours of the day are two, the disciples of Christ are twelve, even the Gospels of Maundy Thursday are twelve.

The number “12” therefore appears to have the meaning of perfection, completion. So the “perfect 12” makes the 13 dissolve that perfection, take a “piece” of completion.

…and the “bad” of Tuesday

The day Tuesday has acquired the position of evil meaning, thanks to the word of the Greeks. When, for example, we want to end something, we say “one, two, three!” On the other hand, when something bad happens, we always expect it to “trite” to end. So if one takes all of this into account, then yes, Tuesday the 13th has a “cruelty”…
