Rome, 24 August. (time.news Salute) – “A racket for life” is in its third edition, a women’s doubles charity tournament that will take place on Saturday 2 September, at the Canottieri Milano 1890 club. Based on an idea by Viviana Galimberti, director of the surgical breast surgery of the Ieo-European Institute of Oncology, the tennis tournament was designed to recall the importance of cancer prevention and collect donations in support of the Ieo-Monzino Foundation, to support the research of the Women’s Cancer Center, the multidisciplinary center and multifunctional women-friendly IEO, dedicated to women’s health as a whole.
On 2 September – reads a note – the matches in pink foresee matches of 12 couples, made up of specialists from the IEO, and not only, who wanted to support this special initiative, from patients and ex-patients, all together united by the same power. The day dedicated to prevention in the field includes – from 10 to 17 – open and free breast examinations, in the presence of the Institute’s breast specialists who will be available to all those who wish. “I am truly proud that ‘A racket for life’ is being renewed once again, a day of sport and health on a women’s scale and specially designed by women for women – comments Galimberti – And also this year being able to make the our breast experience to all those who need it fills me with joy”. Finally, on the same day, at the bar of Società Canottieri Milano, an aperitif will be served starting at 5.30 pm, with a minimum donation of 20 euros per person, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Ieo-Monzino Foundation in support of the Ieo Women’s Cancer Center.
