Stating that the construction of the building, which is currently used as a museum building, started in 1935, Tunceli Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu said, “It is one of the first works of the Republic. It is completed in 1937. It was used as a military barracks until 1949. It has been used as a fiscal residence since then. In the 1990s, a need for housing emerged due to the evacuation of villages, and our state offered the buildings here as social housing to the citizens and continued to provide this service until 2015.
