Tunisian President Kais Saied stressed that “every citizen has the right to have a position and an opinion,” calling for vigilance and warning against new attempts at corruption and sabotage in the country.
During his reception at Carthage Palace, Saied discussed Kamal Maddouri, the Prime Minister, where the meeting addressed a number of topics, most notably, “ensuring the normal functioning of the state’s machinery and not hesitating to take legal measures against any official who does not bear the responsibilities imposed on him by law.”
Saeed stressed “the need to be well prepared for school grants and to work on finding new ideas that guarantee the provision of school supplies to those who cannot afford them or find it difficult to provide them,” explaining that “the devastation that has befallen many basic public institutions and facilities calls for urgent measures to be taken to alleviate the suffering of citizens, and also requires the development of programs that can be implemented quickly while confronting anyone who works to disrupt them, whether from within the administration or from outside it.”
He said: “Every citizen has the right to have a position and an opinion, but the duty of neutrality and the duty of reservation impose on him, if he is in any position within the administration, to treat all of his constituents equally.”
In the context, Kais Saied received Khaled Nouri, Minister of Interior, and Sofiane Bensadek, Secretary of State to the Minister of Interior in charge of National Security, to discuss the general security situation in the country.
The Tunisian President stressed, “The need for greater vigilance, especially during this period when those who corrupted and destroyed are still chasing the mirage of going backwards.”
The meeting also addressed the movement in the governors’ corps, and the Tunisian President stressed, in this context, “that the choice be based on loyalty to Tunisia alone, and that every regional or local official should assume his full responsibilities and seek to find solutions within the framework of state policy and with full respect for the law, and that he should not place barriers and doors between himself and the citizens, and that the citizens should find only one address to which they can resort, which is the presidency of the republic.”
It is noteworthy that Tunisian President Kais Saied had called on citizens on July 2 to hold presidential elections on October 6.
